Axis Studios were delighted to welcome Scottish Enterprise and Culture Secretary, Fiona Hyslop MP to its HQ last month.

Fiona came to check out the studio and the work Axis have been doing, as it recently secured £250,000 of Regional Selective Assistance funding. This will enable Axis to enter new international markets, open new revenue streams, and create 20 new jobs over the next 12 months.

“This is an incredibly exciting time for Axis – all three of our studios and locations are growing,” says Richard Scott, CEO of Axis Studios. “We’ve always had a ‘get out there and get it done’ attitude and the support we've received from Scottish Enterprise has helped us achieve even more.”

Axis is currently in the process of doubling our Glasgow studio space at Skypark, to allow for a Scottish-based workforce of over 180 people. As a result of this expansion it expects turnover to hit £15m by 2018, enabling the studio to explore even more new and exciting projects.

“Scotland’s creative industries sector has been growing steadily for the past few years and we are committed to continuing this upward trend,” adds Fiona Hyslop MP. “The Scottish Government and our agencies continually strive to support our creative businesses to thrive and attract more companies in this important growth industry.”
