Georgina Cranmer, Data Wrangler at Goldcrest Films has been announced as UK Screen’s February’s Shining Star.

29 April 2015

Georgina has made the transition from Goldcrest receptionist to mainstay of the company’s data management team in little over a year. She did this by demonstrating remarkable enthusiasm and aptitude for diversification.

Initially challenged with a self confessed lack of IT knowledge, Georgina has rapidly become proficient in Linux, Mac and Windows disciplines in order to manage data extraction from an ever increasing range of camera formats.

Georgina’s indefatigable commitment and relentlessly positive attitude to mastering new skills have been fundamental to the reliability and efficiency of Goldcrests data management department.

Georgina’s positive outlook and dedicated approach to work inspires junior staff members and benefit the entire department, setting a positive example to everyone around her. She has repeatedly given up her own time for training and has demonstrated a thirst for knowledge and understanding which distinguishes her. She is unquestionably Goldcrest’s Shining Star.

On hearing on Georgina’s win of the Shining Star award Rob Farris, Head of Production at Goldcrest Films said “We are delighted with the news. This couldn’t have gone to a more deserving person. We think very highly of Georgina and see her as an integral part of Goldcrest’s future.”
